Emily Brontë - Wuthering Heights (1847)

I think of pre-20th century classic literature and post-20th century classic literature kinda like how I think of 70s and 90s rock music respectively: the 70s were good, but only on an influential level to me. I mean, there is good 70s rock, but most good 70s rock for me is good on some objective/critical level, not just good for enjoyments sake. therefore, is the Pink Floyd of books. I appreciate it far more than I actually like it.
