Ray Bradbury - Fahrenheit 451 (1953)

94

Not only is this book stunningly well written, but it is, ironically enough, a banned book in and of itself (which is kinda insane considering the book is a far less "offensive" take on a dystopian society obsessed with censorship than its contemporaries). I first read this book in seventh grade and absolutely hated the way this guy wrote with a burning passion, and now I realized he's actually fantastic at his job.

Also this book has the greatest cover ever in all of its variations for no reason, it's actually insane. "Would you rather have a literal matchbook (the visual pun in the cover shown above is simplistic, graphically appealing and absolutely top notch) son or a man wearing armor made of newspaper while flaming daughter" as confucius said once
